Gregory Quinn Dawson II, born to Jacqueline and Greg Dawson in Limestone, ME on December 2nd,1981. As a military child, he spent most of his life in Pensacola, FL and Shreveport, LA. Having earned his education in the Caddo Parish School System, Greg received accolades in athletics and academics. He achieved a Presidential Scholarship at Southern Arkansas University where he spent his Freshman Year of College. He later moved to Tallahassee, FL to fulfill his dream of becoming Florida State Seminole which is where he began his professional career.
Greg received his Bachelors from Florida State University and eventually earned a spot in the Seminole’s Masters program of Social Work. Upon graduating from FSU, Greg worked as a Mental Health Program Analyst/Counselor at the Florida State Hospital in Chattahoochee, FL. He later moved to Shreveport, LA where he worked with at risk youth, severe and profound children, and teens with emotional disturbances as a Behavior Intervention Specialist. He taught private swimming lessons at the Broadmoor YMCA of Shreveport, his church (Faith Lutheran), and in the community assisting low income and disadvantaged youth. After working with the Caddo Parish School Board for three years, Greg decided to move to Fresno, California where he now works as an Inpatient Social Worker at the VA Hospital. In Fresno, Greg is an active member in his community by volunteering for the Special Olympics, volunteering in the growing Mentorship Program at KYJO, and working as a member of Alpha Phi Alpha, Inc. Currently, you can catch Greg training at the Aleman Boxing Gym in Fresno, CA, working with the community in an attempt to write grants for those in need, and speaking to leaders in the Fresno Community to attain knowledge of the city’s needs for improvement. He also anticipates teaching swimming lessons and coaching a swim team.
